Navigating Ybor:
Ybor City is laid out in a traditional urban grid pattern with Avenues running East-West and Streets running North-South. Avenue numbers start at Adamo Drive and increase as you move to the north. The entertainment district begins at 13th Street to the west (by Hampton Inn) and increases as you move to the east toward 22 street (end of the retail district). Everybody giving directions in Ybor will use Avenue and Street numbers to guide you.
Parking:
If you want to park close to the bar, there is a privately owned lot behind the Monkey. Rates range from $3 to $10, depending on the day (rates go up on the weekend and during events). If you don’t mind a two block walk, park in the covered Centro city lot (16th Street just south of 7th Avenue directly south of the Centro Ybor complex). The garage is secure and it’s just $1 for 3 hours, except for Thursday through Saturday when there is a flat fee ($6 on Thurs, $8 on Fri, and $10 on Sat). You should also note that any city-owned surface lot in Ybor offers free parking all day Saturday until 10 pm and all day Sunday until 3 am Monday morning. Several of these city lots are within 3-4 blocks of the bar (the closest is behind Carmine’s restaurant at 18th St and 8th Ave, Lot 5).
